NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

designPreview.PNG

National Night Out is a national program designed to get members of the community to meet their neighbors, in an effort to reduce crime in the neighborhoods of the community. The event is held nationwide by police agencies from across the country and helps to get communities involved in crime prevention. The Guilderland Police Department has been hosting Guilderland's National Night Out each year since 2009.

With the assistance of various organizations sponsoring, the Guilderland Police Community Services Unit hosts the event at Tawasentha Park on the 1st Tuesday in the month of August with an open invitation for residents to come and enjoy an evening of fun and information for the entire family.

Guilderland's National Night Out has drawn hundreds of people each year, and in 2012 the department received an award from Target recognizing our program as one of, if not, the largest single event in the United States.  If you would like more information on our National Night Out event, please contact Christine Kiernan at kiernanc@gpdny.org.
